It is easy for us at times to limit God. Almost to put Him in a box, perhaps even to consider Him no more powerful than our fellow human being. Yet throughout the Bible, time and again, we read of God doing the impossible. Proving that He truly is God, I want to look at some of those, and remind you that whatever struggle you are going through, if you have trusted in Christ, then God is on your side and can bring you through.
For nothing will be impossible with God. Luke 1v37
This saying by Gabriel, could refer both to Elizabeth but more so to Mary. Mary's cousin Elizabeth was pregnant even though both she was barren. However, it does not need a Biology expert to realise that it was impossible for Mary to have a baby as she was a virgin. But God does the impossible and Mary does conceive through the Holy Spirit and has a baby, the Lord Jesus Christ.
And the LORD said to Gideon, "With the 300 men who lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hand, and let all the others go every man to his home.". Judges 7v7
How many men make up an army? Gideon started with 32000 men, but God said that was too many, 22000 were removed, leaving 10000, but still that was too many, so 9700 were removed, leaving just 300 men. 300 men to go up against the Midianites. We don't know how many Midianities there were, but in a normal battle these 300 men would not have stood a chance, but with God nothing is impossible, and these 300 men defeat the Midianites and send them running.
As he came near to the den where Daniel was, he cried out in a tone of anguish. The king declared to Daniel, "O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?". Daniel 6v20
This king wasn't completely stupid, yes he got caught out by his presidents but even he knew that there was no way humanly speaking that any man could survive being in the den of lions, they would tear him limb from limb. Yet, God shut their mouths and kept his servant.
He said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17v20
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11v6
Faith, without it, we have nothing, but with it we have everything. God has promised to be with those who are willing to place their faith in Him. Sure there may be ups and downs along the way, but through it all, He is with us, and He will keep us according to His Will and bring us through to the glories of Heaven that await us when our life on here is done. Have you taken that first step of faith and trusted in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, for Salvation? If not, why not? If so, then celebrate that the God of the impossible is on your side.
