| Thought for the month Good Enough | by S. Latham | |||||

I’ve been thinking about what other article to write for this month’s edition, and there have been many subjects on my mind. I have thought of many ways to look at this article, and there has been a certain phrase that entered my mind was this – there was no other good enough to pay the price for sin, He only could unlock the gate of heaven and let us in. I wander what you think about these words? I attend church regularly and these words are mentioned. What do they say to you? For this article I want to break it down. There was no other – I could carry on by taking the next 2 words but I will comment on these in a minute. We remember, the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ – how apt. Christians will always have at the forefront of their minds that Jesus was the only one who could die, and I often question myself as to whether I would be prepared to die if it came to such a situation. How about you? The next 2 words – good enough. This is why I realise I couldn’t be the person to die for the sins of everyone in this universe. I could never meet the standard to be able to do as the Lord Jesus did. He was the one who could claim to be perfect and be 100% correct. He was perfect in everyway, nothing He did was wrong. He was the only one good enough to do what He did. The last part of the phrase is this – He only could unlock the gate of heaven and let us in. What we must remember here, is that it is the completed work at the cross of Calvary that enables us now, in 2007, to come to the Lord Jesus Christ and walk with Him in our life, to have Him in our life as our personal Saviour. Now I wander if you can say this to be true in your life? Maybe, this month, you may think about this and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to walk with you, He is the only one good enough.
