Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, (1 Corinthians 15v51)Oh how weak and frail are our bodies. Even at a young age they can be affected by sin, both our own, and the sin of the world we live in. If left alone then these bodies of ours will one day die. However, whether we die before, or whether we are alive at Christ's return, Paul here remains us that our bodies will be changed. Note, it is not that we are given new bodies, but that our current bodies will be changed. They need to be changed for they are not fit for Heaven for they bear sin's corruption. But let us remind our hearts how this is possible. For why should we who are but sinners, be made fit for Heaven? It is certainly not because of anything we have done, but because Jesus Christ died for our sins. Let us not forgot to take time to give thanks to God for this. But Paul goes on to tell us in verse 58 not only should we be thankful but we should be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labour is not in vain. That is because we know that Christ will one day return, we know that the work we do down here for Him is worthwhile. Please send any comments you have on this article to a.wood@assemblyyouth.net
