| Thought for the month sing to the Lord | by S. Latham | |||||

Last week, I awoke in the early hours of the morning, it was around 0430-0500. I knew, as I lay in bed I needed a drink so went downstairs to get one, closely followed by the dog. Whilst stood in the kitchen near the sink, I not only noticed it starting to get slightly light, but I could hear something that made me wake up fully and think, which is what I’d like to share with you this month. As I stood there, I could hear the sound of singing birds. It indicates that the spring is not far away, there must have been so many different birds outside as their tunes were so different and many in number but it made me feel happy, and I got the impression that these birds were also “happy”. This made me later think, when we wake in a morning, are we singing to Jesus? What’s the first thing we do on waking? Do we praise Him for who He is and what He is doing in our lives? Let me draw your attention to Psalm 149v1. It reads “Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, and His praise in the assembly of saints” I challenge you, as we approach Easter weekend, are we singing to the Lord on a daily basis to praise Him for all He has done? Let it not be the same song every day, but a different one, for He has given His life for you. If you have any questions or comments on this article, please e-mail me at s.latham@assemblyyouth.net
