This month I would like to talk on the subject of friends. I wander has it ever made you think who your true friends are? I have come into a situation lately where my true friends are the ones that counted, and all those who say they are friends, appear to be nothing more than strangers. Now I'm not saying you should go out and tell people who you think are the false friends to go away, but the true friends are the ones that count. We can have many friends in life, people who stick by us when times are tough, people who are there for us day and night, people who really care for us and our needs. Our friends are important to have, they are valuable to us. We can share things with them knowing these won't be told to other people, we can confide in them, we can trust them. You may be thinking what's this got to do with an article for Assembly Youth Magazine? Well the other day, when I was in this situation I mentioned at the beginning of the article, I really thought about the one, true, complete friend I had in Jesus, someone who's always there, never fails and someone I can talk to about anything, whether it be concerns, worries, or problems. I think as Christians we can so often forget that we have one, that 'sticketh closer than a brother' (Proverbs 18v24). In the month ahead, may we not forget that He is very much a friend as He is a Saviour. If you have any questions or comments on this article, please e-mail me at s.latham@assemblyyouth.net
