how big is your God
by A. Wood

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Ephesians 3v20

How big is your God?
What on earth am I asking now you may be thinking? Well as we go about our lives it can be easy for us to limit God. We may talk about God being all powerful, but do we really believe He is? Are there not times when we say something can't be done?

Perhaps it is an unsaved friend or relative who wants nothing to do with God? Perhaps it is a fellow believer who has lost their way and seems too far gone to ever come back to the Lord? Perhaps we are struggling to find a job? There are times in our lives when we feel like just giving up, perhaps we have been waiting a while and still nothing seems to happen.

Let me remind you that we do have an all powerful God. A God so powerful, He created the world in less than a week, He had the seventh day to rest. We have a God who flooded this world totally, killing all animals, birds, and mankind apart from those saved in the ark. A God who could destroy all the first born of Egypt. A God who would send His only begotten Son to die for us at the cross.

In answer to my questions above, I was the friend who said "people like me don't become Christians" a year before I was saved. In this last year, I have seen the Lord work an amazing turn-around in a friend's life when it seemed he was lost to the world. I have a job that seemed like it was never going to turn up in the area that I felt the Lord wanted me to be.

Yes, life can be a struggle at times, but we have to remember that those struggles bring us closer to God, they strengthen our faith, and allow us to see God work in amazing ways, so have faith and remember just how big your God is.
