Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, John 11v25 This month we come to Bethany and we find Lazarus is sick. Lazarus, Mary and Martha are a brother and two sisters who Jesus cared a great deal about. But here he arrives deliberately too late to heal Lazarus, why? So that other might believe. Upon arriving there He has a discussion with Martha, who has faith that had Jesus been there, He would have cured Lazarus. However, during their discussion Jesus says "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live," (John 11v25) Of course it is easy for Jesus to say these words, where is the proof that He truly is the resurrection and the life. Well if we carry on reading through John 11 we see Him rasing Lazarus from the death. Lazarus had been dead 4 days, but Jesus raises him to life again. Jesus again proved He was who He says was, by raising again the 3rd day after dying on the cross. It is a warning to the non-believer and a lovely reminder to the believer, that in a coming day, those who believe in Christ, will be raised again unto life. Life in Heaven, for all eternity with Christ. Those have not believed, will be raised again, but only unto the lake of fire (see Revelation 20v15). Have you believed?
