Thought for the month
Supporting others
by S. Latham

I wander, whether in the last few months, you have been in a situation where you could do with an extra pair of hands to help you out?Y ou want help from someone, anyone, but no-one is around. You want support but no one.

What about if you were ill or weak for whatever reason? Now flip the coin around and ask yourself if there are people you know that are weak and struggle in some way? with housework? shopping? getting into the Church? What does the Bible say?

Romans 15v1 reads We then who are strong ought to afar with the scruples(weaknesses) of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
Challenging that one isn't it? Even if its someone not as strong as us, struggling in the slightest capacity, are we the first to help? To use our strength, not for the good of ourselves, but for God? We must be able to remember the arm of God, the mighty one stretch out to us, the weak, to save us, this we should do in a physical sense so we please God. I challenge you this month, to maybe find someone, who in whatever way, is weaker than yourself, and see if there is anything you can do to help, all because you Love and want to serve God. Let me know whether your Godly strength enabled arm can reach to someone who needs that extra pair of hands.
