This month we move on to Numbers 17 Here the Lord pre-empts any further murmuring about His choice of priest by providing further proof that Aaron was the one He had chosen. The Lord knew that there might be further murmurings about Aaron being the high priest and so provided proof of it. The proof given could only have been of God, all the rods were dead only God could make a rod bud let alone bear blossoms and almonds. Note the almonds were ripe, proving that it was certainly of God and not just a bud that had been missed before hand. God never leaves anything to what man may call "chance", He is always clear in His actions. It is interesting to see the reaction of the people "we are undone". Having seen the mighty power of God work, they finally submit to God's Will and confess their sin. Perhaps there is something that God has revealed to you recently and you need to confess your sin now. God's glory will always show up our failings but thank God for His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ who has delivered us from our sins.
