And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this? It was the first month of a new year and a new law had been brought into play. All of God's people, the Jews at this time, were to be killed by the end of the year! The law was even sealed by the King's signet ring. (see Esther 3v12). Who is going to save God's people? Is He going to send down fire and brimstone Himself? Is He going to call on a mighty man of God, perhaps a prophet who has been faithful for many years? No He is going to use a young woman, by the name of Esther, to save His people from certain destruction. Now thankfully no such law, in this country at least, has been passed, but I want to ask you what does God have planned for you this year? Esther had no knowledge in advance of what God wanted her to do, but when she was told she did it, even though it could have meant being killed. The question is are you ready, like Esther was, to serve God this year, whatever the cost? Christ was willing to die for us, are we ready to give our life for Him in service?
