Christ unchanging
by S. Latham

Well, here we are in 2004 and time is moving on very swiftly. Hold on…are we really thinking what these changes mean? As time goes by, minutes, hours, days, weeks, things around us are changing. May I take just a second to give you an example? After shopping a few weeks ago, when I came to pay by debit card, a little keypad was thrown in front of me and was asked to type my PIN number in?! I was astounded, but this is a new thing that’s coming in, where you don't sign on the dotted line for your goods, you type in a number that identifies you. Times are changing!!!

Now you may be scratching your head, where is this article going?

As Christians, we can be safe in the knowledge that as the times are moving on, and there are many changes happening around us, there is something that is not changing one bit.

In the Bible, we read this
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." (Hebrews 13v8)
Jesus hasn’t changed at all!
Does this bring you comfort? That same love that was shown on the cross at Calvary is the same today and forever. The uniqueness of Jesus is shown here - no other person can show the same love, grace and mercy than Jesus Christ himself. The Jesus that the disciples and many others worshipped and followed while He lived here on earth, is the same Jesus that thousands of people worship and follow day after day in 2004.

As Christians, we can be thankful that our Lord is the same, whatever else around changes.
