Fundamental truths
Christ as creator
by A. Wood

This month I'ld just like to look at a few verses that show as Christ as creator.

John 1v3: "All things were made by Him [the Word]; and without Him was not anything made that was made."

Could we have a verse telling us this truth more clearly? He made everything and without Him nothing was made.

1 Corinthians 8v6: "... and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things and we by Him.
Ephesians 3v9: "And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:"
Hebrews 1v2: "Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds."

These three verses clearly tells that all things were by Him. Or as the NIV translates 1 Corinthians 8v6: "through whom all things came" that is everything came into being through Him.

Colossians 1v16: "For by Him [God's dear Son] were all things created, that are in Heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him."

This verse shows us that Christ created everything, not just the things on earth but those in Heaven as well. Those things that are seen and those things that cannot be seen he created everything. It goes a step further and tells us that they were created for Him. It wasn't a case that God decided one day to create the world to see what He could do. God created everything for His pleasure.

These five verses show us that without a shadow of a doubt Christ was there in creation. He created everything we see around us, but more than that He created you and me. To think that our Creator looked down on us, saw how far we had gone from Him, stooped down from Heaven and died for us.
