| Thought for the month finding grace in the eyes of God | by S. Latham | |||||

For my second article I am going to look at one verse in the book of Genesis, chapter 6 verse 8. It reads “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD”. Now you may wonder why I’ve picked what appears to be a random verse relating to Noah in this book. Well the other week, I was pondering the grace of the Lord, and in this verse it refers to grace that Noah found in the one person, the only person he could find it from, the Lord. Interestingly, it does not say he stumbled across it, it does not say he asked for it, it says he found grace. I believe this is the same with us, we find grace as we walk along the Christian pathway, for people who are saved this is going to come from the Saviour and Lord. Secondly, I notice it says “in the eyes”. I’ve always said that when we are with someone, if they look you in the eye it could be for a few reasons, one of which is the fact that they are connecting with you and are sincere. I believe when Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord, Noah was close to the Lord personally, he’s looked straight to Him, not looking down at the floor. This is the Lord giving the grace, and not vice-versa. Lastly, the Lord being the most important part, He is the one we should turn to, He is the one we must do our best for, and here we see Noah doing what is right in the sight of the Lord to find grace in His eyes. May this month be the same for us. If you have any questions or comments on this article, please e-mail me at s.latham@assemblyyouth.net
