| Lord's return what is our boasting | by A. Wood | ||||

For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at His coming? Is it not you? For you are our glory and joy. (1 Thessalonians 2v19-20) This month I want to ask you a question. What have you done for God in your life? When the Lord Jesus Christ returns for His own what will you have to boast about? Paul could boast about the Thessalonians. Why?
Ok so we haven't got the apostolic gift that Paul had, however, God has given us each gifts and a work to be done with that gift. It may be quietly behind the scenes or it may be out in public. There are many ways to preach away from the platform, maybe the reason our Gospel Hall's are empty, is because we are not spending time, one on one with people, talking to them about Christ, not forcing it down their throats but answering questions and being friendly with them. Likewise there are many ways to encourage our fellow believer away from the platform. Quiet words here and there, our prayers, being there when they need someone. How sad it would be when the Lord returns for any of us to be empty handed, having to look back at our lives and see there was nothing for God, no small thing that we had done.
