Thought for the month
Love
by S. Latham

I wonder if you have ever thought about LOVE. It is something I have been thinking about over the last few weeks that I would like to share with you.

The verse that immediately springs to mind is that in John chapter 15 verse 13.

It reads “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”

Think about that verse for a few moments. I’m sure you know people who you love dearly, whether it be your parents, girlfriend, fiancé, wife, boyfriend, husband etc. You love them and you will do so much for them, why, because you love them right? Well, there is love, that of human love, and that of God. Now in my opinion, that love cannot be compared at all.

We see in this verse, Greater love hath no man….. there is the none comparable bit, don’t even attempt to compare it! There are limitations to what we will do for the people we love, but would be lay our loves down for them??

As we remember the real CHRISTmas, and the entering into the world of the Lord Jesus Christ in Bethlehem, remember this verse, it says it all, it gives the reason He came, to indeed lay down His life for those he came, and shows how much He loves us, and more specifically, YOU. We are His friends, the next verse goes on to say, but remember this verse, and be encouraged!!
