Well we reach the end of Numbers 14 this month, looking at verses 39-45. The Israelites here been corrected by God and told of their punishment, decide that actually they had better go up and fight. Sadly they didn't listen to Moses' warning that the Lord was not among them, and they were defeated. If we are going to do something for God, then we need to make sure God is with us. The Israelites here, despite Moses warnings, believed they could succeed in their own strength, and they failed miserably. Had they obeyed at the first then God would have been with them and they would have won victories like they would later do in Joshua. If we are disobedient to God then we cannot expect Him to be with us. If we want His help, and we certainly need it to do a work for Him, then we need to obey Him at the first.
