Dare to be a Daniel
give God the glory
by A. Wood

We come to the second half Daniel chapter 4 this month. Daniel has dutifully delivered God's warning to Nebuchadnezzar. So how was Nebuchadnezzar going to react? Was he going to realise his mistake and fall down and worship God giving him the glory? No sadly not. A year later in verse 30 he says "Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by my mighty power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?" and it is why he is saying those words, that God judges him.

So what can we learn? Well we need to be humble, and give God the glory. It is easy when things are going well to forget God. To think that we got where we did on our own, without God's help and to go on in our own strength. So if things are going well for you at the moment, then don't forget God, give Him the glory for what He is doing in your life. And remember Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. (1 Corinthians 10v12)
